Have you ever noticed that sometimes people write IN ALL CAPITAL LETTERS to make a point? Sometimes we get in the habit of putting an exclamation point after every sentence! Oftentimes, we abuse such things!!! Until they lose their meaning all together!!!!!
But God does not fall into that trap. Instead, everything he does is just right. And when he wants to add the emphasis of an exclamation point to honor the birth of his Son, he sends “a great company of the heavenly host!”
Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
“Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
Luke 2: 12-14
Now if a single angel feels obligated to say, “Do not be afraid…” every time they appear before a human, imagine the effect of a “great company” of angels!! Wow!!!
