Then Jesus went back across the Jordan to the place where John had been baptizing in the early days. There he stayed, and many people came to him. They said, ”Though John never performed a sign, all that John said about this man was true.” And in that place many believed in Jesus.
One of the many things we take for granted is our place in the world. Place, as an abstract concept, is important because it is the reference point for everything that happens to or about a particular person at a particular moment in that particular place.
Jesus returns to the beginning, the place where he was baptized by John. The place where the Holy Spirit in the form of a dove descended on Jesus and the voice of God the Father spoke approvingly of His Son. He remains in this place for a time and the people who were his sheep came to him, and they affirmed the truth of who he is, and they believed.
Let’s Discuss: Is there a place of restoration that you go back to on occasion? What is it like?
Hi Guys!
My place of restoration is in getting out of the city/suburbs and doing some camping, preferably out of cell phone reach. The time out of the familiar and the rat race allows for decompression and gives time to assess direction in life, my walk (at tangents) with Christ and some time to contemplate the future.
Typing this makes me realize it has been about a year since I’ve done it!
Take care
Brent,
Thanks for joining in!! Much appreciated!
My place is the point in time that I surrendered and asked him to come into my life. It is constantly getting better and better.
