For no word from God will ever fail.

Summary: Merry Christmas!

Today is the day Jesus Christ was born! Happy Birthday, Jesus!

When Mary and Joseph took Jesus to the temple for the purification rites, Simeon, a devout man of God, took the baby Jesus in his arms and said:

Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word:
For mine eyes have seen thy salvation,
Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people;
A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.
(Luke 2:29-32, KJV)

The word from God was that Jesus would be “A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.” Jesus was not just for the Jews. Jesus came so that all people might be saved (1 Timothy 2:3-6).

Like our dog, Shadow, who developed a taste for “people food,” all of humanity has developed a taste for wanting to be in charge of our own lives (sin).

God’s gift to us was the baby Jesus. This baby would grow into manhood and take on the mantle of teacher and healer, and ultimately, the sinless sacrifice that would make possible the redemption of all mankind (John 3:14-15).

As we celebrate his birth today, I hope you experience the peace that comes from knowing God loves you and that “no word from God will ever fail.”

Application: Keep your eyes on Jesus.

Food for Thought: If God was able to conceive a Son, what can’t he do for you and me?

  1. If God was able to conceive a Son, what can’t he do for you and me?

Not only can He do anything, His Will is that we should share in His everything. Today we celebrate the day that God descended from Heaven to be with us in Emmanuel. Today we can still celebrate that He is with us through Christ.

    Romans 8:31-32
What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?

A Merry and Blessed Christmas to everyone!!

  2. If God was able to conceive a Son, what can’t he do for you and me?

I don’t believe God can ever stop loving His creation. The fact that sin separates man from God does not mean He ever stops loving us.

JOHN 3:16, For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

1 JOHN 4:9, In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him.

ROMANS 3:23-24, For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.

LUKE 15:7, Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.

Today we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. Gods gift to all mankind The power of eternal life to all who will simply humbly receive this Gift.

Merry Christmas to all, as we look forward to a wonderful new year!

  3. Thank you for the devotion brother. Good comments by CH and R2T2 as always. CH thought of the exact same passage in Roman’s that I thought of as well.

I kind of thought that your question was more of a statement than a question – but an appropriate one at that.

    Merry Christmas to all!
