For lack of discipline they [the wicked] will die,
led astray by their own great folly.

Summary: Discipline, paths, and folly are the key elements in this passage. Staying on the path to life is easy if we know the path to life (John 10:9, 14:6).

Proverbs 5:1-2 — The Better Part of Valor

My son, pay attention to my wisdom,
turn your ear to my words of insight,

Proverbs 4:23 — Heart Attack

Above all else, guard your heart,
for everything you do flows from it.

Summary: Life can be hard on a person’s heart. If we allow our heart to become callused we risk closing it off to God’s love. Instead, it is better if we remain open-hearted, but on guard.
