Titus 1:6 (a) — A Question of Blame

An elder must be blameless …

Summary: Being blameless is not the same thing as being perfect. Someone who is blameless is without blame. It is the minimum required amount of right living required for being a church leader.

Titus 1:5 (d) — Water Carrier

… in every town, as I directed you. 

Summary: Paul directs Titus to appoint elders in every town they had been to together. The work that Titus is doing is similar to the work done by Apollos as described in 1 Corinthians 3: 5-8.

Titus 1:4 (e) — The Gift of our Father

… from God the Father …

Summary: Before Jesus was born, mankind could only look upon God as … God. Jesus, the Son of God had a different relationship with God than all of mankind. Jesus was his son. When Jesus completed his work here on earth, we were given the gift of being welcomed back into God’s family.

Summary: We will not see world peace until our world is under the direct rule of our Lord Jesus. Until that time, there will be conflict. Yet, there is a kind of peace that we can have that comes from knowing God.
