These words include love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. "Grok"

… rather, train yourself to be godly.

Summary: Learning to train ourselves to be godly requires thinking about spiritual training in a whole new way.

I would love to sit down with Paul and talk about the history of the church so far. It would be interesting to hear his take on what he would categorize as “godless myths and old wives’ tales.”

Philippians 2:25 Part IV – Fellow Soldier

Summary: Paul calls Epaphroditus a “fellow soldier.” When we consider what this means, we wonder about the war such soldiers fight.

When we think of Christians, the first thing to come to mind is almost anything but “soldier.” The word “soldier” connotes fighting and war. Being a Christian is supposed to be all about “love.” So what do the two have in common?

2 Peter 2:10a — Boundaries

This is especially true of those who follow the corrupt desire of the flesh and despise authority.

Summary: There is a battle for the soul of our nation and the world. It is an old battle that has been going on since the Garden of Eden. Peter is telling us how the battle turns out.
