Philippians 4:1b – In the Lord (Part 1)

Summary: This passage provides multiple topics to ponder. In this meditation, we look at what it means to be “in the Lord.”   

As we meditate on this passage, there are three separate sections we can focus on. The first is what it means to “stand firm.” The second is the phrase, “in the Lord,” and the third is “in this way.” All three carry special meaning and are worthy of our time.

Philippians 2:29a – In The Lord

So then, welcome him in the Lord with great joy…

Summary: Paul’s instruction to the Philippians contains a phrase that is key to our understanding of Christian living.   

Paul’s words here are touching. Epaphroditus has been a lifeline to his brothers and sisters in Christ who live in Philippi. He travelled a great distance to bring gifts to Paul and support him during his unjust imprisonment, and then he almost died in his service to the Lord.
