Simplification

John 3:32

“He testifies to what he has seen and heard, but no one accepts his testimony.”

Speaking about the “one who comes from above” John continues his explanation of why what Jesus says is so unique. Having pre-existed his birth on earth, Jesus comes to earth with a knowledge and an awareness of what it is like to be heaven. Imagine what it must have been like for the Son of God, an eternal, all-powerful being, to become part of his creation. Having been born a human being in a time when life was relatively simple by today’s standards, he now has the task of convincing people he is who he is, and even more challenging, explaining to them what heaven and God are really like.

Q: What are some techniques you use to explain something you know well to someone else, possibly a child, who knows nothing about your topic?

  1. Agree Duane. Enter into conversation and let the Holy Spirit present the opening. John 16:8.

  2. Interesting Duane & Ron…asking questions and using the Spirit. That’s how Jesus tried to explain the things of God to us.

    1. Yes Robster, stick with what works. just gotta get self out of the way.

  3. Explaining is a thankless task if there is little interest or desire in the listener to understand. A man suffering of thirst will listen intently as you explain the path to water. He who is held prisoner will listen carefully if there is a way to be freed.

Without need there is little listening. No one will listen to your testimony.
