Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.
Summary: Happy Thanksgiving! I hope and pray that your day today is blessed beyond all reasonable measure.
I hope that your heart is full of joy. Not just today, but every day. As God’s chosen people we have much to be thankful for. Psalm 100 reminds us of this and gives some tips for sharing our thankfulness with our Creator.
Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.
Why shout for joy? Let’s look at the reasons the psalm gives us:
1. We know that the Lord is God.
2. God made us.
3. We are his!
4. The Lord is good.
5. His love endures forever.
6. He is faithful and always will be.
As you count your material blessings this year, I hope you will also count these simple points from Psalm 100. There is comfort in knowing our God and knowing that he created us. We can have the peace that passes all understanding because God made us, and we are his. And because we are his, because he is good and his love endures forever, we can rely on his faithfulness every day.
Besides the joy of knowing God, I have the joy of sharing my journey through God’s Word with you. I am extremely thankful for each of you who takes a few minutes out of your day to visit here. Your comments and insights enrich my life. I am encouraged by your faith.
God bless you all & Happy Thanksgiving!

Application: Don’t eat too much! 🙂
Food for Thought: What will it be like when we all “Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise”?
Happy Thanksgiving to you too,..
I think that when we all enter into His gates with praise,..there will be so many different words and melodies going on at once that it will sound sort of confusing but they will all culminate into one sweet harmony before our Creator,..kinda like the tongues of fire that came upon the disciples the day they received the Holy Spirit
Thanks for what you do,..keep smiling!
Thank you, John!
Sweet harmony… I like it!! Musically I would say it is “note” worthy.
🙂
Great devotion. Thank you. I am thankful for you brother. Happy Thanksgiving! Eat a lot. And whenever we enter His presence we are given something else to be thankful for – Him.
Thank you, Rich!
Yes, there is a fine line between eating “a lot” and eating “too much!” Hopefully we are all able to discern the difference. 🙂
11-25-2021, Psalm 100:2, What will it be like when we all “Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise”?
2 Samuel 6:14-16
In JOYFUL HUMILITY, David stripped away all outer garments of earthly wealth, achievement and royalty. Girded only with a linen ephod, he danced before the Ark as it was being brought into the city.
At some point in His life he was used to provide us with Psalm 100, titled, A Psalm of Thanksgiving.
1, Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth.
2, Serve the Lord with gladness and delight; Come before His presence with joyful singing.
3, Know and fully recognize with gratitude that the Lord Himself is God; It is He who has made us, not we ourselves. We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.
4, Enter His gates with a song of thanksgiving. And His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, bless and praise His name.
5, For the Lord is good; His mercy and lovingkindness are everlasting, His faithfulness to all generations.
We will enter as children filled with excitement, clothed in His righteousness over our own, thankful for all He has done to make eternal life in His presence possible. We will find rest, knowing we humbly serve our Lord and Savior in His power for all eternity.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving with those you love.
Ron,
I LOVE the story of David dancing before the Ark of the Covenant. That is a great illustration of selfless abandon in praise of our God.
Blessings!
